What to Expect
"Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom."–Aristotle.
Initial Contact

-
Make an enquiry either via email or via phone.
-
If there is availability, we'll book an initial session at a time suitable for you
-
If there is no availability, you will be informed and offer a spot on our waitlist with an approximate wait time
-
You will be emailed with some forms to complete before the initial session.
Initial Consultation (60 mins)

-
This first session can be face-to-face or through telehealth.
-
For adult assessments: just the client need to attend
-
For child assessments: The parents/caregivers should attend. It is up to the parent/caregiver's discretion on whether the child should attend, however, it is recommended that young children not attend
-
- During this session, we will discuss current concerns, areas of strength and weaknesses, and areas of investigation
- Developmental or academic history that are relevant to the issue of concern will be collected.
Assessment (120 mins per session)

-
Based on the information collected at the initial consultation, formalised assessments are conducted.
-
We try to schedule these for mornings as the chances are you/your child will be fresher cognitively
-
Go about your evening before/morning as usual; try to ensure adequate sleep.
-
Try to arrive 5 - 15 minutes early to allow time to settle down.
-
I try not to let assessments run past 2 hours due to cognitive fatigue. If needed, extra assessment sessions will be scheduled at no extra cost to complete the assessments.
-
Brain/Activity breaks will be offered as needed; usually between blocks of tests. It is encouraged that you bring food/drinks if needed.
-
Some assessments will be on ipads, and others will be done with pen/paper
-
You/Your Child will not be expected to answer all of them. Just try your best
-
Some assessments will be in the form of questionnaires to be completed by teachers/parents/peers
Feedback (50 mins)

-
The report writing will commence after all assessments and relevant questionnaires are completed. This takes approximately 2-3 weeks.
-
A 50 minute feedback session is offered; this can either be done face to face or online.
-
For adult assessments: just the client need to attend
-
For child assessments: The parents/caregivers should attend. It is not recommended that young children attend the feedback session.
-
-
Payment is due before the report is released; a hard copy will be provided if feedback session is face-to-face, in addition to an electronic copy emailed to you.
-
This will be an opportunity to ask questions and clarify the findings and recommendations. As such, it is recommended that payment be made before the booked feedback session to allow time to read through the report.
